Archaeologist Julian Richards revisits some of his most important digs to discover how science, conservation and new finds have changed people's understanding of ancient history. He concludes his journey at the excavations of two Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, where he explores the mystery of the Anglo-Saxon invasions that began after the fall of the Roman Empire, discovering fresh clues to some of the first pioneers at the burial site of a warrior and his horse.
